Swine Flu – What in the world?

As folks try to figure out what exactly the Swine Flu is- I caution everyone to stay away from coughing people, “confined spaces” (Thanks VP Biden,) and other germ generating behavior. Some Yasmin Shiraz tips on trying to stay flu free:

  1. Wash your hands!
  2. Cover your mouth when you cough, sneeze, and chew gum!
  3. If you have to get on a plane – Wear one of those flu masks and don’t dare take it off until you are in wide-open spaces.
  4. If you think you’re kid is in a school where there is Swine Flu – check your sources – but be willing to schedule some leave from your place of work. Ever heard of the Family Act? It’s some kind of legislation that allows parents leave to take care of family members. Hey, we have to protect the kids. Employers do not want lawsuits.
  5. Stop eating pork. Dr. Ted on the Russ Parr show says that processed pork has had some of the swine flu in it. Hey, I don’t know for sure. But the World Health Organization isn’t calling it The Swine Flu for nothing.
  6. Really stop eating Pork – this includes Pork Sausages, Hotdogs, Ribs, and what not. Switch to Turkey, nobody is asking you to become a vegetarian.
  7. Encourage your kids to avoid kids who look sick and are coughing and hacking all over the place. Its okay, if someone is contagious as long as they don’t spread it to you. A good offense is the best defense.
  8. Let’s work hard to remain Swine Flu Free!
