From Being Bullied to Being a Mom at 11! : Girl Gives Birth

11 Year Old Mom

11 Year Old Mom

This girl, Kordeza, is 11 years old and recently gave birth on her wedding day. She married Jeliazkov, her 19 year old boyfriend, who she initially met when he rescued her from BULLIES! Well, this story takes place in Bulgaria where 13 year old moms are apparently the NORM. WOW. I first saw this story at MediaTakeOut, then checked it out on UK’s News of the World. I was shocked–shocked enough to share it.

In the story it says:

“I used to play with my toys but now she is my new toy. She is so beautiful, I love her. Violeta is the child and I must grow up. I am not going back to school – I am a mother now.” – Kordeza

Kordeza met Jeliazko in the playground of her Roma gypsy school in Sliven, Bulgaria, when he rescued her from bullies.

The worried teenager – who is facing up to six years in prison for having sex with a minor – wrings his hands as he recalled: “I was walking past the school when I saw some boys mocking her and I told them to leave her alone.

“Then she arranged to meet me and asked me out on our first date. I thought she was 15. She didn’t tell me she was 11.”

Kordeza giggled: “I didn’t want to say in case he wouldn’t fancy me.”

I’m shaking my head right now, that sound like something that would happen in America!!! To the right is a picture of the 11 year old and her could-be-going-to-jail husband.

I wonder what life is like for 11-13 year old girls in Bulgaria if having babies at 13 is the norm. What is it like for boys if girls having babies with 13 year olds is the norm, but you can still go to jail for having sex with a minor…. SMH. What do you think life is like?
