Guilt At Play?: Father of Michael Jackson’s Molestation Accuser Commits Suicide

Michael Jackson - The King of Pop

Michael Jackson – The King of Pop

My grandmother used to say, “It’ll all come out in the wash.” And, when I just read on RadarOnline that Evan Chandler, the father of Michael Jackson’s Molestation Accuser, has committed suicide a million thoughts ran through my head. First let me say, it is a tragedy when people kill themselves. I send my prayers to the family. But I also wonder about Michael Jackson’s family–a family who knew he was tormented by these allegations of molestation that the boy himself this year recanted. I wonder if Michael Jackson’s untimely death this summer made Evan Chandler think about what he and his family put Michael Jackson through. I wonder. After Michael Jackson died, so many people said that he really struggled with being accused of something for which he was innocent. To be accused, to be treated like a guilty person, to be tried and convicted in the eyes of the world and yet to be INNOCENT the whole time–that must have been a tremendous burden to bear. And now for Evan Chandler to know what his hand was in the undoing of Michael Jackson, that also must have been a tremendous burden to bear.

Evan Chandler’s body was found with a single gun shot wound to the head in Jersey City, NJ on November 5, 2009. Do you think guilt was at play in this suicide? Do you believe that guilt over past wrongs could lead a person to kill themselves?
