Teen Hero: Amber Bahr, 19, Helps Others At Shooting At Fort Hood

Teen Hero - Amber Bahr

Teen Hero – Amber Bahr

Two days ago, on November 5, when 12 people were killed and 31 were wounded in the shooting at Fort Hood Army Base, a 19 year old nutritionist spent her time helping others who were wounded though she had been shot herself. After reading the profiles of those who had been shot and killed, I wanted to give a shout out to Amber Bahr. I often hear young people say that they’re too young to make a difference. But at 19, Amber showed bravery that was beyond her years. She was able to assist other people who were wounded–and saved lives. According to news reports, not until she finished helping others did she realize that she had been shot in the back–the bullet exited through her stomach.

I want to say thank you to Amber for being brave and serving others. She is a true hero. If you ever feel that you can’t make a difference, remember Amber’s story. She saved lives on November 5 by being brave and helping out.

Tell other people about Amber’s story, it might inspire somebody… it might save a life.
