I have an annual reading challenge!

A few months ago, I challenged myself to read 52 books this year. I reasoned that as a writer and a person who loves to read, I should be able to read at least one book a week. Well, I’m happy to say that I’ve already read 52 books and the year is not over yet. I don’t know how many more books that I’ll read this year, but next year’s reading challenge will be at least 80 books.

The best thing about having an annual reading challenge is that it forces you to read and to try new authors. Thanks to this year’s reading challenge, I discovered Harlan Coben and the fabulous Myron Bolitar. I also discovered Richelle Mead’s Vampire Academy which I absolutely loved!! Richelle has an awesome ability to write great books in a series. I discovered Malala Yousafzai and learned about her people from Pakistan. I also discovered Coe Booth and fell in love with Tyrell.

I’ve learned so much about writing through reading great authors this year. I’m looking forward to reading more books and growing as a writer.

Do you have an annual reading challenge? What books have you discovered this year?

Let me know.

I’d love to hear about them.

If you want to see all the books that I’ve read this year so far, connect with me on Goodreads. Here’s the link to my profile.

Peace & Love,
