My two favorite aspects of the Grammy’s this year were Kendrick Lamar and Taylor Swift. I loved Kendrick’s performance and Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech for album of the year.
Whenever I watch award shows, I try to pull something positive from the experience. I was inspired by both of these entertainers this year. And, so I did a podcast sharing what I felt after watching the Grammy’s.
Kendrick made a bold move by giving us some real visuals to make us think about what is going on in the world. The Grammy stage is big and reached over 21 million people. For Kendrick to chose this stage to give us visuals of incarceration and African dance says a lot about him as an artist.
It says, “Use your moment to enlighten people.”
At the 2016 Grammy Awards, Kendrick won 5 Grammy awards including best rap album for “To Pimp A Butterfly.” Remember, President Obama thought Kendrick’s album was his favorite album of the year. Maybe the President knows a thing or two about albums.
Taylor gave us some inspiring words to make us think about what is going on in the world. Instead of simply focusing on her accomplishments as an artist, she gave a personalized message to women all over the world. For Taylor to be so inclusive in her message says a lot about her as an artist.
It says, “Use your moment to empower people.”
At the 2016 Grammy Awards, Taylor won 3 Grammy awards including Album of the Year for “1989.” According to Wikipedia, Taylor Swift has won some 248 awards in her career. She is talented beyond words.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the podcast. And if you are ever inspired by something like the Grammy’s, use that inspiration to improve your life, or impact someone else’s.
Peace & Love,
