PERISCOPE, HERE I AM!
I wanted to give you a quick update and let you know that I’m broadcasting on Periscope three days a week right now. So far my schedule is Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. On Monday’s I share a #MentalhealthMonday tip. On Wednesdays, I share a motivational question that is called #WakeUpWorld and on Fridays I share funny stories from the week. The hashtag is #FunnyFridays
If you follow me on twitter, then you will easily be able to find me on Periscope as well. My Periscope name is @yasminshiraz. My Periscope sessions are generally about 10 – 15 minutes long and there will be replays available on my Yasmin Shiraz Network page on FB as well as Katch.me.
Here’s the rundown from last week:
This #MentalHealthMonday tip encouraged listeners and viewers to write down their negative thoughts as a way to gain power and control over them. I shared with everyone the power of having a journal to clear your mind and to lighten your load as it relates to negative emotions and feelings.
During this segment, I asked the question, Who Could Eulogize You? We often find ourselves in situations with people who we say are our friends, but we don’t allow those people to be close to us at all. So, why do you call people your friends who you aren’t allowing to get to know you? And, if you have someone who is close to you, why can’t you let them in. That’s was the #WAKEUP question of the day.
While I was at SXSW I heard Don Cheadle speak about being a part of the Boogie Nights movie. The movie was about the porn industry and when Cheadle was asked to join the cast, he told the people, “Uh, my parents are still alive, I can’t do porn.” I thought that was hilarious. Also, I shared how when the music people came to town at SXSW all of their groupies, hangers on and desperate women without their undergarments came to town as well. Oh my goodness… It was hilarious.
Anyway, I hope everyone has a great week. If you are looking for mental health tips, motivation and the funny, please join me on Periscope.
Peace and Love,
