Slide1Welcome to Episode 21 of Live Better with your host, Yasmin Shiraz. Today’s tip deals with gifts, specifically your gifts. I believe everyone has qualities that make them unique and special. Sometimes we don’t know what our gift or gifts are. Sometimes we abuse our gifts and they disappear. Sometimes we don’t trust our gifts and so we never use them. Before you say that you don’t know what I’m talking about, here are some gifts: writing, communicating whether written or spoken, being able to connect with people, being a resource for others, etc.

So here are three questions that I want you to consider when thinking about your gifts?

1. What trait or talent have you been complimented on by others?

2. Do people ever come to you for anything specific, like getting advice, or wanting to do something specific?

3. What talent or trait do you have that brings joy to you and/or others?

The answers to those three questions are likely a key to how to find what your gifts are if you don’t already know.

I’ve always believed my writing was gift. I’ve been writing in journals for my entire life, I always believed in the power of my writing. But, when I first became an entrepreneur, I learned about my gift in communicating to people. Whether I was talking to clients, sponsors, I am able to convey a feeling of trust and understanding. I believe that is a gift. It was in my gift of communication that I toured 30 colleges a year giving lectures. As a writer, I never saw myself as a professional speaker, but the gift c ame and I believed in it.

As I’ve met people across the US and the world, I’ve noticed that people doubt their gifts. So, I want to share a breakthrough that I say to myself. It helps me on my path.

I have been given phenomenal gifts. These gifts–writing, speaking, filmmaking–have all been given to me to touch the masses. I am worthy of these gifts or else I wouldn’t have been given them. I affirm that I am using my gifts in a way that will honor the creator who has given them to me.

What are your gifts? What is unique to you? I encourage you today to honor your gifts by utilizing them as YOU KNOW you should. What’s that voice in the back of your head telling you to do? What’s that thing in the back of your mind that you keep running away from. I encourage you today to empower yourself and honor your gifts.
