makinguturnsWelcome to this episode of Live Better with your host, Yasmin Shiraz. This episode is inspired by one of the initiatives that I’m doing right now in my business. I am writing emails to everyone who has ever emailed me. Now, before I go into the why’s and how’s, I wanna ask you three questions:

1. Have you ever felt disconnected from the people that you knew?
2. Have you ever unintentionally burned a bridge?
3. Have you ever needed to connect with others who are similar to you?
If you answered yes to any of the three questions, then you already know why I’m writing emails to everyone who has ever emailed me. I was beginning to feel disconnected from the people who have bought my books and supported me in my career. So, I started writing emails. I wanted to know how “My PEOPLE” were doing. Yes, I call them my people because they have bought my books, read my magazines, and watched my films and I needed to know that they were okay. It’s a strange feeling, but I seriously felt disconnected from my base and I had to reach out.

Several years ago, I started struggling with my throid which lead me to feel tired and foggy on most days. In those days of my struggle, I didn’t have the energy or the focus to connect to the people who’ve always kept me going–my fans. So, now that I’m feeling better, I’m writing emails.
Just yesterday, I read an email from a reader who I had lost contact with and she said, “Yasmin, don’t ever stop writing, because when I read your writing, I feel like I’m right there with you.” Those words were encouraging to me and gave me a boost. Feeling connected to somebody who has something in common with you is important.
I wanted to share this podcast with you because there was a point in my life when I needed to make a U-turn. I needed to go back and reconnect with people but I didn’t have the strength and I didn’t have the clarity. But, today, I have both. Sometimes health can prevent you from making a U-turn. Sometimes emotions can prevent you from making a U-turn. Sometimes life’s complications can prevent you from making a U-turn. But, I’m here to testify that when you know you can make a U-turn, when you know you should make a U-turn, then make the U-turn. You’ll be glad that you did.
This podcast is dedicated to the readers and supporters of my work who make the U-turn worth it. I needed to make a U-turn, don’t be afraid to make a U-turn in your life. And, hey, if you ever emailed me, don’t be surprised if you get a new reply in your inbox.
I hope this episode helps someone. And, if you’re enjoying the show, please leave a review on iTunes or Stitcher radio. And of course, I want to hear from you. Email me: or visit
