SXSWIf you’re like me, you were overcome with the plentiful media coverage on the super-hyped up event that is South By Southwest aka SXSW.

After listening to Tim Ferriss of the 4-Hour Work Week talk about how SXSW is such a great event, I decided to go this year and see for myself. In this review, I give you the good, the bad and the oh-so-real. All of those elements made my 1st SXSW an unforgettable event. And, I can see myself going back next year. I was able to see Kerry Washington, Don Cheadle, Dr. Henry Louis Gates, Jr. and a host of others. I don’t want to give all the details in this blog post, so here’s my video review.

And here’s some more info on SXSW… I grabbed it from their site especially for you…

SXSW Event ReviewThe South by Southwest® (SXSW®) Conferences & Festivals offer the unique convergence of original music, independent films, and emerging technologies. Fostering creative and professional growth alike, SXSW® is the premier destination for discovery.

Year after year, the event is a launching pad for new creative content. New media presentations, music showcases and film screenings provide buzz-generating exposure for creators and compelling entertainment for audiences. Conference panel discussions present a forum for learning, business activity thrives at the Trade Shows and global networking opportunities abound. Intellectual and creative intermingling among industry leaders continues to spark new ideas and carve the path for the future of each ever-evolving field, long after the events’ conclusion.

Now, I’d like to mention that both the president, Barack Obama and the first lady, Michelle Obama both presented at South By South West.

BUT, you had to enter a lottery to see President Obama. I entered the lottery and was not selected. The lines filled up for Michelle Obama. So, in some cases, if you didn’t wait in line 45 minutes or more for a keynote, you did not see it. For the cost of the ticket, I did not enjoy finding out this fact!!!

Peace & Love,
